Statement

How will AI change medicine — and physicians?

As a nephrologist in daily practice, I have been measuring the intelligence of machines. How well can AI answer the questions of medicine? How accurately can it read disease from blood and urine tests? The more I measured, the more the question inverted itself — perhaps what deserves attention is not the machine, but the physician.

Before the same AI, some physicians will grow stronger while others will decline. On that divide, the future of medicine may turn. So I remain in clinical practice, verify through research, and build an open commons of learning for everyone.

Biography

2016Graduated from the University of Tsukuba School of Medicine; licensed as a physician.
2018Clinical training at Tokyo Shinjuku Medical Center, Toranomon Hospital, and the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center.
2021Entered the graduate school of St. Marianna University School of Medicine; began research on medical AI.
2023Founded AcademiX Medical.
2025Received PhD (Medicine); appointed Assistant Professor, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, St. Marianna University School of Medicine.
2026Established the Japanese Association for Medical AI Literacy (JAMAIL); appointed founding president.
